| KINGFISHER PARK BIRDWATCHERS LODGE at Julatten The Lodge is situated off the Rex Highway between Mossman on the coast and Mt. Molloy at the northern end of the Atherton Tablelands, Queensland. The lodge is in a 5ha wildlife sanctuary providing a wide range of accommodation in a rainforest setting with walking tracks leading to an open grassed orchard and a permanent creek. The creek is home to a pair of Platypus and provides many species of birds with a bathing and drinking area. The accommodation covers all needs, 2 self-contained two bedroom villas that sleep up to 6; 4 self–contained units that can sleep 3, plus 4 basic bunkhouse rooms for two. Also a camping and caravan area with powered sites and a cook shed. The amenities block includes a laundry and is shared with the bunkhouse accommodation. Self caterers will need to buy food before arriving, either in Port Douglas or Mareeba. There is a small general store and an excellent bakery in Mt. Molloy. A comprehensive wildlife library plus facilities for downloading emails and uploading photos is available for guests. T-shirts, Bird Call CDs, wildlife and guide books, plus artworks are also available. |
